Voice Security & Routing

Session Border Controller Services

Enterprise SBC services for secure voice environments and advanced call routing.

Overview

Secure and manage voice at the network edge

We provide session border controller services that secure voice environments, manage signaling, protect communication paths, and ensure reliable interoperability between platforms.

Our work includes deployment, configuration, optimization, and ongoing support for SBC systems in both enterprise and service provider settings. With precise policy control, secure routing, and continuous monitoring, organizations gain a stable and protected communication layer.

Deployment options

We offer our own managed SBC platform that can be deployed across most environments—on-premises, cloud, or hybrid. Fully managed by our team, it provides enterprise-grade security and routing without the overhead of maintaining SBC infrastructure yourself.

For organizations with existing investments or specific requirements, we also implement leading industry platforms (Oracle, AudioCodes, Ribbon, Cisco CUBE) and enterprise-grade open-source solutions (FreeSWITCH, Kamailio). We handle deployment, configuration, and ongoing support regardless of platform.

Capabilities

What SBCs provide

Security and access control

Protect against toll fraud, denial of service, and unauthorized access. SBCs enforce authentication, rate limiting, and topology hiding at the network boundary.

Protocol normalization

Translate between SIP variants, codecs, and header formats. Enable interoperability between systems that otherwise wouldn't communicate cleanly.

NAT and firewall traversal

Handle far-end NAT, manage media anchoring, and maintain RTP paths through firewalls without opening excessive port ranges.

Call admission control

Manage concurrent call capacity, enforce bandwidth policies, and prevent oversubscription that degrades voice quality.

Advanced routing

Route calls based on time, destination, caller ID, or custom rules. Implement least-cost routing, load balancing, and failover logic.

Media services

Transcoding between codecs, SRTP/RTP conversion, DTMF interworking, and call recording integration at the SBC layer.

Services

How we help

Deployment and installation

Hardware, virtual, or cloud SBC deployment with network integration and initial configuration.

Configuration and policy design

Dial plans, routing rules, security policies, and interop profiles tailored to your environment.

Migration and upgrades

Move from legacy systems or upgrade firmware with minimal disruption and rollback planning.

Interoperability testing

Validate connectivity with carriers, UCaaS platforms, and PBX systems before production cutover.

Optimization and tuning

Analyze call flows, reduce latency, eliminate one-way audio issues, and improve overall quality.

Monitoring and support

Ongoing health monitoring, alerting, and incident response for production SBC infrastructure.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

We offer our own managed SBC platform deployable across on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments. We also implement industry platforms including Oracle/Acme Packet, AudioCodes (Mediant series), Ribbon/Sonus, Cisco CUBE, and enterprise open-source solutions like FreeSWITCH and Kamailio. Platform selection depends on your environment, scale, and whether you prefer a fully managed solution or self-hosted infrastructure.

Hardware appliances provide dedicated resources and predictable performance for high-volume environments. Virtual SBCs (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) offer flexibility and easier scaling. Cloud-native options (AWS, Azure) work well for distributed deployments. We assess call volume, latency requirements, and infrastructure to recommend the right approach.

One-way audio typically results from NAT/firewall misconfiguration or incorrect media anchoring. We capture SIP traces and RTP streams to identify the root cause—whether it's SDP issues, asymmetric routing, or codec mismatches. SBC configuration adjustments, RTP proxy settings, and firewall rules usually resolve these problems.

Yes. SBCs terminate TLS on one side and re-originate on the other, allowing different certificate chains per trunk. For SRTP, the SBC can pass through encrypted media or perform SRTP-to-RTP conversion when connecting to legacy systems. We configure certificate management, cipher suites, and media security policies based on your compliance requirements.

We deploy active-standby or active-active SBC pairs with sub-second failover. Configuration includes shared virtual IPs, session state synchronization, and health monitoring. For geographic redundancy, multiple SBC clusters can be deployed with DNS-based failover or anycast routing.

Capacity depends on transcoding requirements, media anchoring, and features enabled (recording, encryption). Pass-through calls without transcoding are lowest load. We size based on peak concurrent sessions, calls per second, and whether transcoding is required between codec types.
